About Us
Meet the Locals!

Hello, well, here’s the section where we introduce ourselves to you, and you get the chance to find out a bit more about the faces behind the website…

So, a very warm welcome to the website…

yorkshire east coast beach bridlington My name is Charlotte, and I am doing the research for this website (hardly hard work!) with my fiancé, Ian.

Unfortunately, we aren’t lucky enough to be living on the beautiful Yorkshire east coast at the moment, due to Ian’s work commitments.

Thankfully, we aren’t too far away, though…

We live in a tiny, and very lovely, little village in East Yorkshire, with our retired racing greyhound.

He's called Ginger (I’m sure you’ll be seeing plenty of photos of him around the website!), and we also have a big ginger cat, Brian.

It is only about an hour away from the Yorkshire coast, so we make the most of every opportunity to spend our free time around this enchanting area…

His family has lived in the area for generations, and his brother and sisters still live in Scarborough, whilst his Dad has retired to Bridlington...

Bridlington is nice and flat for older people to enjoy, in comparison to steep and hilly Scarborough!

Ian still has other extended family members living all around the Whitby and Scarborough areas, too.

yorkshire east coast meet the locals in filey All this means that I get an excellent local guide to all the charming tourist sights.

I’m growing to love the Yorkshire east coast as much as a local now, but still with all the enthusiasm of a tourist.

That’s why I want to share with you all our old favourites and new discoveries, tourist hot-spots and hidden corners...

...which only the locals know about.

I hope, whether you visit the Yorkshire east coast for a fun day out, short break or an extended holiday...

...you will get a real affection and love for this beautiful area…
