Out lobster fishing from Bridlington
by Bill
(Bridlington)
It was just a normal working day for Clint (the skipper) and first mate (Jason) I was a mere spectator, 16 hours at sea, then to the pub for a well earned pint.

Time and Tide
Picture is called 'Time and Tide'.
I liked the way that the sea over time had moved the once upright sea defences into this random view I saw on this day.
Over time with global warming they will move again!

Tranquil Bridlington Harbour
by Ian Barber
(Doncaster)
Something about Bridlington that I like...
I usually head down South Shore but on Saturday I decided to have a walk around the harbour and soak up all the atmosphere.
This is a photograph of the entrance to the harbour taken from the side where all the fresh fish is brought by the fishermen.

You've done a great job making something so simple look so amazing! And I think it casts a new light on the usually busy, Bridlington harbour.

Glenn Marshall - Yorkshire Painter of Light,Legend and Landscape
by Glenn Marshall
(Sewerby, East Riding of Yorkshire)
Not my usual choice of subject - Expanse Hotel and North Bay Promenade
I'm the painter who fell into art by accident...literally - I fell off a ladder.
While waiting for operations on my knees I taught myself to paint watercolours. I turned professional in 2003 after being told I could be an overnight success - though it would take up to 10 years - ah well - only 3 more to go!
I live at Sewerby and this is my base for a wide range of courses and workshops.
I have to confess to being a "wessie" but have worked here on the East Coast for the last 5 years and moved over to live here 3 years ago.
I love the area - it is a painter's paradise!
My next workshop is on Wednesday 16th June at the Ship Inn, Sewerby from 10am - 4pm.
The cost is £45 pp which includes all day refreshments and a special pub lunch provided by chef Charlie.
Good food, a great location, good companions and a masterpiece to take home with you - what more could anyone want?
The day is suitable for painters of all abilities (honest) and is designed to encourage you to develop a love for the magical medium of watercolour. However the day is also designed to be a fun experience.
If you want any more info please call 01262 424844 or email: marshall-artz@live.co.uk

Hello Glenn
Beautiful picture! I know the spot!
Thanks for sharing your art - and your very interesting story of how you got into art - obviously something you were just meant to do!
Your courses sound interesting too - painting by the sea, with great food thrown in... what more could you ask for!
Good luck with them, and with your art.
Thanks so much for sharing

P.S. Visit artist's website here...

Watercolour Workshop
I have attended one of Glenn Marshall's monthly watercolour workshops at the Ship Inn Sewerby.I have to say it was a most enjoyable experience!
The meal at lunch time was very good and the coffee was on tap all day, the company of the other painters on the course was excellent..
I would definitely recommend this workshop and Glenn is the best tutor Ive come across.

Great pic, Janet! Thanks for sharing! It's very unusual, and a great 'spot' from you to see all those lovely patterns in the sand. Looks like it's been busy with lots of boats there on the sands - lovely day for being out on the waves I think!

Thanks for sharing, Janet - Mappleton's a lovely beach, isn't it? We think it's a nice, quiet, almost forgotten spot - very 'old-fashioned' feeling, and a lovely little village.
You can see our visit to Mappleton Sands here, too...
I love the lines of waves showing the tide coming in, on your photo.
Thanks very much for sharing - it looks like you very much enjoyed your trips to the Yorkshire coast - I hope you'll come back again soon - it's not too far from Hull, anyway, so that's good :o)

Happy New Year - Snowy Bridlington
by Charlotte
(East Yorks, UK)
Happy New Year to you all - I'm back at work today after the Christmas break and woke up to a blanket of snow!
We spent quite a lot of the holiday period in Bridlington - we only saw the sea once though - mostly we've been decorating my father-in-law's bungalow...
It's been quite snowy at the coast. Here's a lovely snowy scene from Boxing Day in Bridlington...
