We visit this popular bay along the Yorkshire Coast. A favourite spot with surfers and holidaymakers alike...
The 'Unofficial Guide' tells you more...
This is a lovely, quiet bay, very popular with surfers, located in between Scarborough and Filey.
We parked at the Surf Shop, where there is access down to the beach.
...ending up back at the car rather exhausted, drenched and muddy - but feeling exhilerated - and we did have a lovely time!
...but probably not with the dog, owing to the difficulties he had with the steps - he is a greyhound, a breed which tends to struggle with steps at the best of times! (...they haven't got the right kind of legs!)...
...so other breeds of dogs may fare better - we did see quite a number of different dogs on the beach!
Cayton Bay on the Map
Find the Bay and Surf Shop carpark off the main A165 road between Filey and Scarborough, close to Cayton Bay Holiday Park (off the same roundabout - new road layout here!).
Park at the Surf Shop.
This map is interactive.
Cayton Bay Holiday Park - right across the road.
Blue Dolphin Holiday Park a mile or so down the road.
We stayed at The Bay Filey self catering holiday accommodation a short drive away, close to Filey.
