Hornsea Mere & Wassand Hall
by Vanda Miller
(E.Yorks.)
Beautiful Hornsea Mere. This picture was taken from the public footpath which runs from Hull Road, Hornsea, through beautiful countryside to
Wassand Hall and beyond (one of our favourite walks).
Wassand Hall is open to the public on certain days - see website. Well worth a visit.
The picture shows one of the most beautiful views of Hornsea.

Thank you very much Vanda - it's a lovely photo - I do love Hornsea Mere, and funnily enough I was only thinking about it this morning!
But more importantly, thank you for the tip about Wassand Hall - I did not know the hall there was open to the public!
I've had a look on the website, and it looks lovely - beautiful rooms, and gorgeous gardens, actually!
Not too expensive, and
dogs are allowed too (presumably just outside, though?)
I'm definitely going to see if my husband, Ian, can take us there soon! Looks an idyllic walk too!
Wassand Hall on the MapThis map is interactive.- Just use the + and - buttons in the top left corner of the map to zoom in and out.
- Use the arrows to move about the area.
Wassand Hall is only open on certain days (not every day) so do check the 'Open Days' section on the website carefully, before you go, to check that it is open!
Visit the official Wassand Hall website, here, for more info...Thanks very much for sharing, Vanda, I love the photo, and I always like information about new great places to explore along the Yorkshire coast!
Thanks
Enjoy your walks in the sunshine this weekend.
Best wishes
