This is the most useful for walking around the centre of town and seeing all the sights. It's got useful locations noted on, and all the popular tourist attractions. This map of York UK folds up nicely (approx 4 inches by 2 and a half inches), but opens up into a large(ish) paper which can easily be read. Covers the City Centre. Full street index on reverse, also area map (small) and map of the University of York. Very clear. York Pop Out Map
Folds a little larger (approx 4 by 5 inches) but has a unique 'pop-out' design so that you aren't forever folding and un-folding your map. Ideal for quick location-checks and windy days!
Covers the City Centre. Fold-out map is approximately half the size of the A-Z Map above, so it is a little harder to read at a glance, and many minor streets are missing. (This could lead to some confusion in York's old streets, but you'll never be too far from a mapped street, so it's not a serious concern). Small index of main streets.
