This is a fantastic new restauraunt and I want to get people to try it! It's really great food - fresh homemade chips, homeade coleslaw, mind blowing steaks, and gourmet burgers.

I love it and want more people to go as it's a new local business - I want it to stay!!

You can see book and see the menu online, and there is a mailing list I'm joined on for special offers, events and vouchers.

Southcliffe Hotel, Bridlington

Lovely staff, excellent service. Home cooked food at low prices.

So far have tried:

The full English breakfast with tea and toast included for £2.95 - best breakfast around. Beautiful.

Liver, in onion gravy with mashed potatoes, fresh cabbage and carrots. Perfect.

Steak pie, chips and peas. Stunning pastry.

Can't wait to go back soon.

Thanks for your review - it sounds great!

Is the breakfast only available for guests staying there? ...or for members of the 'public' too?

Food available to the public

Food is available to the public, there is a public bar and dining area. I think breakfast finishes at 12 but they serve food all day and have a full menu. (I'm working my way through it!)

Drinks in the bar are also reasonable and they sell bar snacks including baguette sandwiches which come with a little pot of coleslaw and are just £1!

one of worst places i have ever visited,go for b/fast if you get toast your lucky to get butter and jam,pay for evening meal at bar,sit down when youve bought drink only to be told 10 mins later they dont have what you ordered, utter madness, staff worked to the brink while owner watches tv!!dont complain, its against rules as owner only wants customers that are going to put up with being tret badly!! there are many much better places in brid.

The Manor Court, Carnaby, More Comments...

by Ken
(Leeds)

Everything printed on your page here is true, BUT, Two things are missing:-

1) You need to Book

2) You need a car to get there as it is 2 miles outside Bridlington.

..............

Comment by Charlotte:

Thank you very much for your comments Ken - that is most helpful!

(I assumed we just booked as we were a large party, but that is good to know when we want to pay a return visit sometime!)

I have looked up on the internet and found the bus timetable, here for anyone without a car wanting to try the restaurant out.

Thanks again for your comments, and for helping to make my review more complete.

Best wishes

Comment by Anon.:

We have never stayed here but eaten here a few times, but never again. When speaking to the Manager he admitted they re heat from frozen food and get their sauces out of jars. Stay away if you want fresh food cooked from scratch.

............

Comment by Charlotte:

Still love it...

Well, personally I don't care if the food is cooked from frozen and some of the sauces come out of jars - I still think the food here is great...

...and more to the point we didn't have to wait forever for our food - many a 'cooked from fresh' meal elsewhere has been spoiled for me by waiting so long I've become faint.

If the food tastes good, it's hot and service is good, I don't have a problem...

Ferns Farm Hotel, Bridlington

by JD
(Sheffield)

Unfortunately we visited this pub with our two little ones, and we were hoping to find a nice friendly local pub.

Instead we found that the staff were quite rude, and the service was poor. our food initially was taken to the wrong table then back to the kitchen to be reheated and bought out to us.

We waited a good 40 mins in an empty restuarant for our food and the only thing that stopped us leaving was because by this time both our children were really hungry.

They managed to eat their tea when it came, despite the sausages looking like they had been deep fried, however the same cannot be said of the two meals ordered by us.

I think I can honestly say that this is the first and hopefully the only time I have left my food.

The dish which should have been mushroom stroganoff resembled something a lot less appealing.

So after waiting to see if any of the staff bothered to see how we were finding the meal (they didn't) we then went down to the harbour and enjoyed some fish and chips.

We were very disappointed in this meal. So much so it compelled me to write this review as I have never written a review before.

Comment:

Hello JD

Oh what a shame!

Thanks for sharing your experiences - its such a shame that this happened to you - we had a lovely meal here - and I think the food came quite quickly - quite impressive as there'd been a power cut there all morning.

Just as well there's some lovely fish and chip shops by the sea - glad you were able to save the day!

Thanks once again for sharing your experiences with us - so sorry it was a bad one though!

Best wishes - and hope your next meal out is a better one!

THE FERNS FARM HOTEL Very poor! Food was poor quality for the prices paid. Not happy with staff remarks towards my husband.

Revival Cafe, Quay Road, Bridlington

Like stepping back in time - what a brilliantly unique eatery.

We saw the board outside offering 'credit crunch' breakfast at very reasonable price, once inside the waitress service was excellent as was the food.

A good range of food on offer for lunch, snacks and breakfast, all very fresh and very tasty.

The cafe had a distinctive 30's feel with decor and music to match, it was such a pleasant change to have pleasant, polite waitress service by friendly staff instead of the slapdash attitude of the young waitresses with stony faces who can't be bothered.

The breakfast was excellent with a proper pot of tea and a proper milk jug (not the tiny 1 cup measures most cafes give you) nothing was too much trouble for the staff, the premises were very clean and welcoming, would defininately recommend eating here.

Cliff end cafe - Flamborough

This cafe is a lovely little gem set in the perfect spot after a fab walk around the cliff edge - fantastic views of the birds roosting and the shape and scale of the cliffs.

The food and service here are both spot on, for a very reasonable price too. There is a wide selection of food and drinks from just a cup of tea and a cake or a sausage sandwich to full blown fish chips, and pasta.

Service is provided with a smile and a bit of banter, a very calm and relaxed atmosphere - it's exactly what you want on a trip to the seaside, or even after a spot of golf!!

Thanks very much for sharing your review of the Cliff End Cafe, Flamborough.

We haven't been ourselves for a couple of years now - but we really enjoyed our fish and chips we had here (take-out - but it looked lovely, clean and nice to eat-in, too).
