Car Parking in and around Whitby
Whitby can be very busy for parking in Summer. We like parking at the Marina car park - which is close to the town, usually has plenty of spaces, and has public toilets available.
For the beach and pier, car parks along the West Cliff are nice and convenient...
While if you plan to visit the Abbey, choose to save yourself a long climb up the Abbey steps by parking in the Abbey Headland Car Park - you can still visit the town from here, too...
If you are visiting out of season, car parks on the West Cliff and at the Abbey charge only during the Summer Season (1 March to 31 October).
It's worth noting that long stay car park tickets are valid in all council long stay car parks in Whitby (and Scarborough and Filey too I think!)

In the Summer season you normally have to get lucky, or get up early, to get parked right on the sea front - but you never know! The North Bay is usually quieter than the South Bay.
Pick up a Parking Disk from the Tourist Information Office, or many shops, newsagents and garages to allow you to park for free in many of the streets outside the town centre.
Set the disk for the time you arrive, and check regulations on signs on the street for the length of time you are permitted to stay. The map included in the link below (at the bottom of this section) can help you with this...
If you are holidaying in Scarborough, check with your holiday accommodation for a scratch card which allows parking in Scarborough, in the streets outside the town centre, close to your hotel.

In Filey we usually park at the West Avenue car park near the Golf Club.
This car park and the one at the Country Park, at the northern end of the town, are most likely best for visitors with lots of spaces and public toilets close by (there are also public toilets available all along the sea front).
These car parks charge in Summer Season only(1 March to 31 October).
Smaller car parks are available closer to the town centre.

You shouldn't be stuck for somewhere to park in Bridlington - although in peak season the convenient harbour car parks can get very busy (and we do find them a tight squeeze for manoeuvring a car around!)
There are lots of small car parks around though which should cater for your needs....
