We review Sanders Yard restaurant in Whitby - we had a big breakfast here - find out what we thought....
We went for breakfast at the quaint Sanders Yard restaurant on the old, east side of Whitby town.
Sanders Yard is a complex of cottage and B&B accommodation, with daytime restaurant, all clustered round a quiet and pretty courtyard - tucked away off the main street.
The Sanders Yard restaurant in Whitby is comfortable and friendly with a nice, relaxed air.
It is decorated in a traditional country style with an area with comfortable coffee tables and sofas (ideal for a relaxing stop for coffee and cake)...
...and a further room, with big, chunky, waxed tables, and farmhouse style chairs, and with pretty, fresh flowers on the tables.
There is also a patio, for outside eating - very pretty, quiet and nicely enclosed.
You can choose delicious looking cakes from the tempting cake display cabinet as you go in...
As we were just here for breakfast, sadly, cakes weren't on the agenda...
We both had a full English breakfast.
It came as a large plateful with:
- sausage
- bacon
- scrambled egg
- lots of beans
- fried potatoes
- lots of mushrooms
- toast
- tomatoes
We paid extra for a (very small!) glass of orange juice, and a cup of coffee.
We did have quite a long wait for breakfast, even though it wasn't actually very busy! ...and we were very hungry when it came!
We did enjoy the breakfast though, and were pleased there was a big plateful.
As well as breakfasts, the menu includes:

- Greek Salad
- Mushrooms or tomatoes on toast
- Vegetarian burger
- Fortunes' Smoked Kipper
- Welsh Rarebit

- Jacket Potatoes
- Cakes and Desserts
- Children's Menu
This was a pretty and quaint little spot, with a comfortable and friendly feel, and a nice, relaxed air.
Holiday accommodation is also available:

- The Old Dispensary Cottage (holiday cottage)
Looks a lovely place to stay - and right in the centre of it all!
