Restaurants in Bridlington reviewed - we ate out at 'Mariners' Fish and Chip Restaurant and Carvery, close to the harbour and seafront in Bridlington, Yorkshire. Find out what we thought....
For a filling and cheerful meal we ate out at Mariners Restaurant and Carvery...
Mariners is on South Cliff Road - close and very convenient for the harbour area and town.
We had a good, filling and very tasty meal here...
This is a large and convenient restaurant, specialising in fish and chip dishes, and a full carvery.
The restaurant is comfortable, bright and cheerful, decorated with a welcoming green and yellow colour scheme.
The sizable restaurant area is sub-divided, so a more intimate eating experience is available for the quieter months of the year - it must get very busy in Summer!
The restaurant is arranged with comfy benches and chairs around tables, bedecked with cheery yellow and green checked table cloths, with lovely, clean glass table-tops.
Service was quick - with very friendly and helpful staff.
Order and pay at the bar.
We were then called to the Carvery to collect our meals.
Menu
Choose from:
- Fish and Chips - all kinds of fish dishes
- Carvery - including chicken, turkey, beef and pork
- Pies - including chicken and ham, steak and ale
- Hot, meat-filled baguettes
- Scampi
- Yorkshire Puddings
- Lunchtime Specials
Help yourself to as many potatoes and veg as you wish, at the Carvery bar.
On our visit (January 2010) there were available 2 special menus of:
- 2 meals for £11... or...
- 2 meals for £12
We didn't take advantage of these special offers:
- I had turkey carvery
- Ian had steak and ale pie
Ice cream and desserts are also available.
We found this a welcoming and convenient restaurant - it was good value, with friendly and attentive staff, and hot, tasty food.
The only downside was that the restaurant was very cold - it was the middle of January though!
