Raffles is a small, smart, exclusive restaurant, but very friendly and family run.
The decor is clean and contemporary, with soft leather dining chairs you can sink into, and chunky, mosaic-tiled place-mats.
The whole atmosphere is one of smart comfort, and both the restaurant itself and the friendly owner, Kim, are very welcoming.
We found the food to be really good. We ate from the lunchtime specials menu (served Wednesday to Saturday) which changes daily, and a tempting a la carte menu too.
Starters, main meals and desserts are all available, and the restaurant is fully licensed.
Raffles restaurant is also open for evening meals.

What we Thought
I had the chicken breast in red pepper and tomato sauce, and Ian had the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.
We served ourselves from dishes of very tasty potatoes and veg brought to the table - these were cooked beautifully - just the right amount of crunchiness and softness combined!
The meals really were delicious - we did enjoy them, and all the other dishes we spied going to the other diners' tables looked great too.
We treated ourselves to dessert - at that price it would be rude not to!
I had the Lemoncello souffle, and Ian had the Gooseberry and Toffee Crunch - yes, they were just as scrummy as they look!!
The food came very quickly, and the owner, Kim, was helpful, friendly and informative.
There seemed to be a lot of regulars who all knew each other and knew the owner, Kim, well - I'm not surprised they keep coming back!
I'm told at busy times that you really should book ahead to be sure of getting a table.
The restaurant seats up to 26 - quite nicely intimate, but certainly not too crowded or lacking in privacy at your table.
There are lunchtime specials Wednesday to Saturday with a daily menu.
Also early bird specials with a weekly menu.
A wine menu and a selection of spirits were available.
All the food is fresh, home-cooked, good natual food - locally sourced wherever possible.
