On a sunny day in Bridlington, we enjoyed a tasty fish and chip lunch, with a stunning sea view.
It can be easy to miss the Sea View restaurant from the street, as there is a fish and chip take-away in the front.
Just one glance through, to the picture window on the far wall - and that striking harbour view - will draw you in to the restaurant inside...
As soon as we entered, we were made to feel very welcomed, and waited whilst the ever-helpful staff cleared us a table by the window.
The restaurant is traditional and smart, with solid, wooden tables, and lovely, padded leather chairs - supporting and comfortable to relax into and enjoy the meal... and the view!
Try and get a seat close to the window if you can - the view is great - overlooking boats in the harbour - and with a wonderful vista, right across Bridlington's South Beach.
Its got to be one of the restaurants in Bridlington with the best views!
As you might expect from a fish and chip restaurant, the menu heavily features fish and chips.
Other options are available, though, for main courses, as well as starters and desserts.
At the date of our visit (July 2010) the main meal menu choices included:
- Cod
- Haddock
- Plaice
- Scampi
- Lemon Sole Goujons
- Seafood Platter
- Homemade Scallop Fishcake
- Chicken Burger
- Tuna Jacket Potato
- Cheese and Onion Quiche
- Prawn Salad
And a Kids' Menu including:
- Fish and Chips
- Sausage and Chips
- Chicken Nuggets and Chips
Prices are all very reasonable.
Our food came quickly, and was hot, tasty and freshly cooked.
We both had standard sized portions of the haddock and chips, and found there to be plenty (they also do 'large' and 'jumbo' versions!)
The food was tasty and very filling!
The staff were all unfailingly and genuinely polite and helpful - a pleasure to be served by them.
The prices were very reasonable - great view, tasty food and a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere - we'll definitely come here again!
