Read about our family celebration meal at The Manor Court, Carnaby near Bridlington. Did we enjoy the meal? What we really thought...
We celebrated Ian's Dad's 85th birthday in style at the Manor Court Hotel in Carnaby. Most of the family managed to make it, so we were 17 in all!
Ian's Dad made it his own choice of all the restaurants in Bridlington, as he'd been to a function there a few weeks before, and had been favourably impressed. It certainly didn't disappoint!

For my money, this has got to be one of the best restaurants in Bridlington...
From the very start, the staff were very friendly and attentive, and the food came very quickly. Ian and I enjoyed:
Starters:
Melon balls
Garlic mushrooms
Main Meal:
Turkey with stuffing and cranberry
Battered lemon chicken strips
served with boiled and roast potatoes (or rice) and a selection of fresh vegetables
Desserts
Rhubarb crumble
Chocolate ice cream
Coffee with cream (decaff available)
Ian's sister, Hazel, had blackcurrant sorbet that was fantastic - everyone was quite jealous - it tasted just like real blackcurrant!
The food was delicious - and that was pretty much a unanimous vote!
The food was all wonderfully fresh
The meat was lovely and tender (and plenty of it)
Flavouring was just right, not too overpowering, but delicate and tasty
The vegetables were light, fresh and just the right amount of crunchy.
The desserts were just a delicious treat... yum! (highly recommended)
For us, its not just the food that makes this one of the best restaurants in Brilington - the decor and ambience were both lovely.
The Manor Court has been quite recently refurbished - and they made a very good job of it. The decor is traditional, but contemporary at the same time (a difficult enough task, but one they seem to have pulled off well). It is very smart, and has been nicely done.
The bar area was quite bustling and noisy, but we were shown through to the restaurant area 'proper'. It was lovely, quiet and roomy - a very pleasant space. There was another large party in the same room, next to us, but we did not feel at all crowded or 'overlooked'.
We all had a fantastic time - especially the 85 year old birthday boy (at the head of the table) - and definitely want to return for the birthday celebrations next year...
The Manor Court Carnaby restaurants in Bridlington are right on the main A614 road. Take care as the entrance is quite easy to drive past. Park at the rear of the property.
