Whitby is a fishing port, and nearly all of the restaurants in Whitby feature locally caught fish and famous 'Whitby scampi' somewhere on the menu.
Whitby fish is reputedly the 'best around', so this is clearly no bad thing!
There are many dedicated fish restaurants in Whitby - many of these specialising in fish and chips - fish and chips in Whitby is one of those 'must-do' meals!

Whether you want a light snack, a tasty lunch, cream tea or evening meal, there are plenty of spots to choose from, on both the east and west sides of town.
