We review the Runswick Bay Cafe - fantastic views - can't beat them! A lovely place for a snack and a sit down....
We enjoyed coffee and cake overlooking the picturesque harbour of the Bay, in the cafe there.
This is a really handy spot for a snack - relax with a cuppa and the truly great views.
You can eat indoors - smart blue-checked tablecloths, and cafe-styele chairs, with a big picture window, so you don't miss out on those fantastic sea views from inside...
...or out - there are tables and chairs outside, and big long benches at the front of the cafe.
Come here for:
sandwiches
cake
tea
coffee
soft drinks
ice cream
Also sells:
postcards
beach toys
buckets and spades, etc
The service was polite and friendly.
We had coffees at £1.50 each (in a proper mug) and Ian had a 'Rocky Road' cake.
The cake was £1.50 too (prices correct at the date of our visit - July 2010) - a mix of chocolate, biscuit, marshmallows, mars bars etc - homemade and a really delicious treat - great value!
No toilets in the cafe, but use the public toilets situated behind/above the cafe - open 24hrs.
This was a great spot for a break and a bite to eat - good food, great service and fantastic views!
Runswick Bay Cafe on the Map
Find the cafe right on the harbour front, close to the beach car park, in the old (lower) village.
This map is interactive.
Just use the + and - buttons in the top left corner of the map to zoom in and out.
Use the arrows to move about the area.
Opening: I believe the cafe is closed out of season.
