Find out why this place is so popular for eating out in Scarborough. Yummy fish and chips and a spectacular view...
Read a review of Scarborough fish and chip restaurant 'Winking Willy's'...
Winking Willy's is an excellent fish and chip restaurant/cafe right on the sea front in Scarborough (close to the harbour area). We visited on a cold, wintery day - so found it a really warm and welcoming haven to fill up.
Winking Willy's is a simple fish and chip cafe - decorated in pine cladding and a real nautical theme.
It is apparently named after the 'accused' in a Wild West 'Wanted' poster - so that accounts for the 'interesting' name!
The cafe has plenty of seating, both upstairs and downstairs - with a fantastic view over the harbour and bay from the first floor. It does get busy in the middle of summer though. There is also a take away if you prefer to take food out.
The food is simple fish and chip fare, with an excellent variety of fish on offer - but definitely tasty enough - and an ideal place to stop and fill up on lovely hot food along the sea front. The portions are pretty generous and the food was piping hot and freshly cooked (and caught).
This is a very popular Scarborough restaurant for fish and chips and is usually busy, especially in Summer - so try and avoid the busiest lunch time periods to get a more relaxing meal.
Winking Willy's on on Sandside (the sea front) close to the harbour/marina area.
