We were first introduced to 'Le Cafe Jardin' by Ian's sister, who lives in Scarborough and visits this lovely Scarborough cafe-bar regularly. I can see why...
...it is a charming little restaurant/cafe/tea room - all originally inspired by the style of a Victorian garden room/conservatory - all very pleasant and welcoming!
It is now decorated in a smart, modern and relaxing style - lots of dark wood, leather sofas (go upstairs for the sofas), and Jack Vettriano prints (whose paintings I really love).
The menu is your usual cafe fare - enjoy meals, snacks or morning coffee and afternoon tea. There is also a more substantial menu for evening meals. The cakes and desserts are served all day and are truly delicious - well worth a trip just for a pastry!
The food is tasty, with generous portions. We certainly enjoyed our meal, and have returned there on more than one occasion.
It is a very attractive and relaxing atmosphere there - I particularly remember whiling away the hours one cold February afternoon up there, sipping delicious, creamy hot chocolate - delightful!
'Le Cafe Jardin' is situated in Huntriss Row, so it is very convenient for town centre shopping - and an excellent little place to take the weight off your feet and re-fuel.
I do hope you will try 'Le Cafe Jardin' Scarborough restaurant and bar and enjoy your meal or afternoon tea there...
