Scarborough Restaurants Reviewed - Kam Sang Chinese Restaurant Wondering where to eat? Scarborough restaurants reviewed - we visited the Kam Sang Chinese restaurant in Scarborough. Find out what we thought.... The whole family enjoyed a birthday meal out at the Kam Sang Chinese Restaurant in Scarborough... It was Ian's nephew's birthday - and he had chosen this Chinese restaurant for his celebrations - the family often eat out here... especially for the 'All you can Eat' Sunday Lunch Buffet. We were a party of 12, booked in for the Sunday Lunch Buffet at 1.30. When we arrived it was very busy, with people crowded and stood in the entrance - we had to cramp around a table in the entrance while we waited almost half an hour for our table to come free - nice that it's popular though! The staff were consistently helpful and polite, and showed us through to our table - in a quiet alcove at the back of the restaurant. It was nice as we were able to be quite private. The restaurant itself is smart, clean and comfortable, with interesting Chinese decor and artwork.
Once we were in main the part of the restaurant, there was a pleasant 'buzz' as it was busy, but it wasn't overwhelming. The dishes for the All you can Eat Buffet were set out on a table - there was plenty of choice - and dishes were quickly whisked away and re-filled as they were eaten. On the day we ate here, the choice (we think!) included:
The Sunday Lunch Buffet was priced at around £8 per person (correct at the date of our visit - June 2010) Of course, we all had a bit of everything - all very nice and tasty - basically, standard Chinese buffet fare - I particularly enjoyed the beef in black bean sauce, out of the ones I tried.
The family all enjoyed their meals - and agree it was a good choice for Jack's birthday meal! Afterwards, we all trooped down to the seafront for a Jaconelli's Ice Cream.... mmm! Opening Times
