The Dracula Experience
Gothic Whitby

The Dracula Experience, Whitby - Reviewed

For a true taste of Gothic Whitby, try 'The Dracula Experience' (Bram Stoker's Dracula Experience).

This is a fun and spooky tour, through Bram Stoker's famous Dracula story.

This is a bit like a fancy ghost train tour, on a Dracula theme - minus the train!

As you walk through the darkness, listen to the Dracula story, and take your courage in both hands as you watch the legend come to life, in a series of animated scenes...

Spooky experiences at The Dracula Experience in Whitby

Very eery lighting and some spooky surprises add to the atmosphere of fear!

Something is sure to make you jump!

'Fright'-ful scenes at Whitby's The Dracula Experience

Sadly, we did miss out somewhat for our visit, as the live-actors, which really bring the experience to life (literally!) weren't on until later in the day.

Check the notice by the desk as you go in, to make sure.

The tour was quite creepy at times - the darkness helped with this!

Take a look at these videos (...not filmed by us, by the way!) for a spooky experience of the attraction...

Not for those of a nervous disposition!

The kids around seemed particularly entranced and excited by their spooky experiences!

Take care with your footing as you go around, as there are steps and uneven surfaces, and low light conditions.

The Dracula Experience didn't seem to take us very long at all to go around - I think it would have taken longer, and been more enjoyable, had the live actors been on.

The Experience also displays the cloak of Christopher Lee, as worn in the second Dracula film - very impressive! (It's right at the start of the 'tour' as you go in - don't miss it!)

Don't forget to pick up a 25p 'Dracula Guide', which guides you through the experience, as well as having a useful 'Dracula Trail' map of Whitby, showing a few Dracula-related landmarks. (5p goes to the RNLI)

Also visit the Goth shop next door to the entrance (on the right hand side, as you face the entrance) for a 'Draculicious' Goth shopping experience...

Great fun and a spooky laugh! Ideal for kids! (...so long as they don't get too scared!)
