Information and review of Hudson's Whitby Restaurant and Grill (formerly the 'Khyber' Restaurant). We love this place to eat in Whitby, slightly off the beaten track and with fantastic views and yummy food...
One of our favourite places to eat out in Whitby, England, is the Hudson's Restaurant and Grill (formerly the Khyber Pass restaurant).
This is a lovely place to eat, clean and modern, but with a distinctly nostalgic feel.
The restaurant is in a fantastic location with great views, right on the bend in the road, travelling up from the west pier sea front road, towards the North Cliff (the road is called the 'Khyber Pass').

The restaurant is long and low, with wonderful, big picture windows, looking out onto the sea - so you can look out onto Whitby pier and beaches, while you enjoy your meal.
Hudson's restaurant is arranged rather like a 50's diner, with tables, comfortable padded bench-seating, and low lamps over the tables. The decor is somewhat more art deco though - a lovely, pleasant place for a relaxing meal.
It's not just the location and decor that make this a winner for us, though. The food itself is delicious. I normally have Scampi, and Ian often has fish and chips - always wonderfully cooked and super-tasty!
The staff are helpful and friendly, and the service is fast - which all makes it a lovely, Whitby restaurant to stop and pause a while for a relaxing meal.
Disabled access and parking is available. May be closed out of season.
