Jul 27, 2010, Wonderful Week in Whitby

whitby north yorkshire

We've just got back from a wonderful week's holiday in Whitby - staying at these lovely holiday cottages. Had a great time and can definitely recommend a stay here - a great spot just outside Whitby - walkable distance into town (1-2 miles) and a great base for the whole area.

We went to loads of places and saw lots, and had lots of lovely meals out so I've got loads to report back to you...

While we were there though the swing bridge in town got stuck open - no traffic can get through!

There are buses, and shuttle boats operating between the east and west sides though.

The bridge is hoped to be operational by Friday (30th July)

Check out the latest news here...

Check out if its open yet on the webcam, here...

I'll be spending the rest of the week (and possibly a bit longer) writing up all my reviews of where we went, and hope to start putting them all onto my website soon after that...

Hope you all enjoy your holidays and day trips to Whitby and the Yorkshire coast as much as we did last week :o)
